At the weekend, Matt, Nina and I travelled to Bournemouth to photograph their pre-wedding shoot on the beach! Matt and Nina love the seaside, who doesn't? So a coastal themed shoot was a must. We couldn't have planned it on a better day; the weather was amazing... especially for the time of year (I was slightly worried we'd have to pack hats and scarfs). I suggested that we travel down in the afternoon to capture the 'golden hour', one of the most beautiful times of day, just before the sunsets and the light is warm and soft. Sunset over the bay did not disappoint! We were extremely lucky and just over the other side of the beach was the full moon shining on the sea. We had to get a few more shots before setting off for the journey home. Of course, we could not break tradition and made a detour to the local fish and chip shop for dinner. After a near 300 mile round trip, I think these photos were definitely worth travelling for! I can't wait for the wedding in just a few weeks! ... and just for fun!

A wedding fit for a princess! Sarah and Louis tied the knot at the Abbey Hill Golf Centre in Milton Keynes, with a Marvel Superhero/Disney Princess theme! Sarah looked absolutely stunning in her Alfred Angelo wedding dress, teamed with Swarovski Crystal encrusted heels.
It was essential their Boxer dog Bully was part of the wedding, he was so well behaved throughout the day and he definitely looked the part in his waistcoat! Sarah loves Cinderella, it was the name of their top table and the stunning wedding cake (made by Sarah's mum) included the famous glass slipper. We had to recreate the shot during their bride and groom portraits, where Louis was down on one knee putting on Sarah's shoe... which just happened to be the perfect fit! It was a beautiful day and I wish them both a lifetime of happiness, congratulations! "...and they lived happily ever after!" Natasha and Ryan had a small and intimate wedding ceremony at the Old Palace Lodge in Dunstable. It was the first time I had photographed this venue, so I arrived earlier than planned to take a look around and of course just incase of traffic! Just opposite the Lodge is a stunning open garden, perfect for Natasha and Ryan's bride and groom portraits (with added 'beeps' and congratulations from passers by!)
Congratulations once again to Mr & Mrs Smiley I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness (and lots of 'smiles')! Kate and Dave tied the knot at the Corner 5 Restaurant in Bedford. It rained almost all day, but that didn't dampen the mood, the whole day was full of emotion from tears to laughter it was a joyous occasion. Whilst they exchanged vows, Dave had a hard time getting his words out, needing short breaks to compose himself, readying to carry on. Eventually his lines were complete and everyone applauded him. Everything went a bit misty behind the camera as I had to wipe away tears (I'm a big softy!) The weather cleared towards the end of the day and we managed to get out and take some photos by the Lake. It was a brilliant day from start to finish.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Hirst, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness! |
